MODERN MEDICAL RESEARCH FACILITIES CREATES A BENCHMARK FOR THE FUTURE
iWolff Atelier was engaged to design and deliver this facility to house the new headquarters for Novartis Pharmaceuticals in North Ryde, NSW. iWolff Atelier was also responsible for the master planning for the entire site for the long term development of the facility.
The brief from Novartis Pharmaceuticals was to masterplan for the long term development of the facilities within their own environment. It included creating a new leading edge medical and commercial building adjacent to their existing building to house its medical research and administration departments.
The project consists of 2500sqm space with the majority being large open plate commercial floor space, focusing on a central atrium space. The atrium contained the central library and has been designed to be an open planned interactive space inviting all users of the building to use and relax in the library space.
Medical research facilities were also provide to compliment those provide within in exiting building. There was also a provision of long term future expansion of the facilities.
The building is being designed as a landmark project to set the benchmark for modern, leading technology commercial uses flexible floor plates.
This facility was opened by Prime Minister John Howard.
