CAPELLA CREATED A DESIGN SOLUTION WHICH BROUGHT CONTEMPORARY LIVING STANDARDS TO THE MUNICIPALITY.
Capella is a landmark development for Kensington. It has been designed as a graceful combination of modern design and contemporary living offering beautiful, quality designed apartments, many with expansive views over Randwick Racecourse.
Capella comprises two crystal shaped buildings, with a beautiful glass exterior complemented by a warm facade. The detailed brickwork façade and louvres combined with full width glazing to all the apartments creates a warm yet striking design.
Orientation has been carefully considered; apartments either face directly onto the spectacular internal gardens or provide residents with panoramic views of the racecourse or parklands and city beyond. Each apartment has been designed to bring natural light and breezes deep into its interior.
iWolff Atelier was responsible for the delivery on a Design and Construct basis using innovative construction technologies. All masonry walls are precast units and the floors are constructed of modular flooring utilising ultrafloor. Hence it is primarily a prefabricated building.
Capella comprises 164 individually designed apartments over ground level retail set around more than 3000sqm of landscaped gardens and a lap pool. Carparking is provided on two levels of basement.
